Documentation Manager is a web-based application that automatically generates documentation based on the current state of the Citrix MetaFrame XP Presentation Server for Windows environment. The output is displayed in a web browser, which not only provides the ability to "Print" but also has the ability to "Save" the documentation to a file. By automatically generating complete and current documentation in a consistant, print-able, save-able format, the burden of maintaining up to date system documentation becomes as simple as opening a web page and hitting "Print".


Since Documentation Manager does all the work, even administrators or help desk personnel who are not fully familiar with MetaFrame XP can get very technically detailed information in a consistent layout.

The web-based design allows documentation to be performed remotely. If the web server is available on the internet and the remote user has authorization, Documentation Manager will report the results to that remote user's web browser. No longer do you have to sit in the computer room or even on-site to produce system documentation.

Licensing
Documentation Manager generates information on one server farm. Documentation Manager is licensed per server farm. You can install as many copies of Documentation Manager as necessary as long as all the servers are in the same farm. The exception to this are Web Interface servers. You can install Documentation Manager on as many standalone NON-MetaFrame XP-based Web Interface servers as desired, there is no farm limitation for this option.

Product Technical Details
Documentation Manager utilizes the MetaFrame COM Object supplied by Citrix Systems, Inc. in the MetaFrame XP Presentation Server for Windows product to automatically generate your environments documentation. Every time you start Documentation Manager, it reads your current farm configuration and displays this as a web page in a web browser. From the web browser, the administrator could print a hard copy or save the web page to a centralized documentation folder.

      Web Interface for MetaFrame XP Administration
      Citrix Connection Configuration
      SpeedScreen Latency Reduction Manager
      ICA Client Update Configuration
      MetaFrame XP and Terminal Services registry values

Documentation Manager utilizes the security built into the Management Console for MetaFrame XP. In order to produce documentation, the user must be listed as a MetaFrame XP Administrator with at least View Only privileges. The user will be prompted for credentials before Documentation Manager opens in order to verify their security privileges.
